Microcredit Regulatory Authority MRA Job Circular 2022
On the recommendation of the committee, the government passed the Microcredit Regulatory Authority Act, 2006 in July 2006. Under this Act, the Government established the Microcredit Regulatory Authority and constituted its Board of Directors with the Governor of Bangladesh Bank as its Chairman. All microfinance institutions operating under the new law are require to apply to the authority for certification. No institution can conduct microfinance activities in the country without the authority’s certificate.
According to this Act, all microfinance institutions will be protect separately from all microfinance relate accounting and other development activities. The Authority is entrust with the responsibility of overseeing and supervising all the microfinance institutions certified by the Authority. The Authority is empower to formulate detail rules covering all aspects of microfinance management such as: income-expenditure, area of work, internal and external audit guidelines, deposit collection, utilization of surplus funds, composition of boards, submission of reports, etc. The authority is empowered to take disciplinary action against organizations that fail to comply with laws and regulations.
